Glazed Orange Cake Recipe

I made my glazed orange cake recipe the other day, which is usually delicious!

This time though, I was very disappointed and it was all my fault - not the recipe's!!!

What I did was I used a new bundt pan. Now I know I should be cautious WHENEVER I use a new cooking pan. But, of course, I was in a hurry and was not paying attention. Which is a bad thing!

My new bundt pan was a dark charcoal color non stick pan. Up until that time, I had been using a tube pan, which was not teflon coated. You know, the one in which you make an angel food cake. What I usually did was spray it with Pan. The one for baking.

Well, I made my glazed orange cake in it the way I had always done. I set the timer for one hour as it called for in the recipe. Boy, was that a mistake.

I baked my cake too long! I was overdone and dry and tasted like a sweet bread, not cake at all.

My husband said it was delicious, but he was just being nice. We only had one piece each of that cake.

I would still advise you to try this orange cake recipe.

Sweetie's TipMY SWEETIES TIP REGARDING BAKING PAN: If you are using a dark pan, especially for the first time, check to see if your cake, or whatever dessert you are baking, is done before the time the recipe calls.

I would start checking for doneness at least 15 minutes earlier than the recipe calls for.
