Oatmeal Cookie Recipes

These oatmeal cookie recipes are 50 years old. The are wonderful homemade recipes just waiting for you to try one.

Oatmeal Cookies with Raisins

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup raisins
Here is what to do:

Cook raisins in small amount of water. Cool and drain. Cream sugar and shortening. Sift dry ingredients. Add with raisins to creamed mixture. Add nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown. Cool on rack.






Here is an oatmeal cookie that my children loved when they were little.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies (Drop)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar, white
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Here is what to do:

Cream shortening and sugars. Beat egg slightly and add. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture gradually. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pan. Makes 3 ½ to 4 dozen.






Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups oatmeal, uncooked
Here is what you do

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.

Cream together the oil and sugars. Beat well with an electric mixer. Add the egg and vanilla. Stir in the baking soda, salt and flour. Then add the oatmeal.

Form small balls, drop on a greased cookie sheet and bake until brown. This recipe makes 5 dozen cookies.
