Here is my mother's marshmallow fudge recipe. It is approximately 50 years old and it is not a difficult recipe. I hope you enjoy!
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 6-oz. or 1 12-oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 cup nuts (opt.)
Combine the milk and sugar in saucepan and place over low heat. Stir until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil. Increase the heat and boil for 2 minutes while stirring. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, vanilla and butter. Stir until mixture is smooth.
Pour 1/2 of the mixture onto waxed lined pan. Spread marshmallows on top of the fudge mixture and pat gently into it. Top with the remaining mixture. Sprinkle nuts on top if desired.
Chill, cut and eat.
