Chocolate Pie

Pretty's Chocolate Pie
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa
  • 2 tablespoon Flour (not heaping)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 baked pie shell
Separate yellow of eggs and beat well, then mix sugar, cocoa, flour, pinch of salt. Add alternately with milk to eggs then cook until thick and add a tablespoon butter and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Put in pie shell and add 4 tablespoons sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla to egg whites and beat. Brown in 375 degree oven.


Chocolate Supreme Pie

  • 1 baked pie shell
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 1 1/2 cup hot milk
Mix together sugar, salt, flour, butter, vanilla and cocoa. Add cold milk. Add egg yolks and hot milk. Cook slowly stirring constantly until it thickens. Pour into baked pie shell. Let cool. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 2 tsp. sugar and a little vanilla. Spread on pie. Brown in a slow oven.
