Cherry Pudding
With Vanilla Ice Cream
Here are the ingredients:
- 1 can cherries in juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Drain a can of cherries (save juice) and place them in the bottom of a greased 9 x9 pan.
Mix together 1 cup sugar and 1 tbsp cornstarch and then sprinkle over the cherries.
Mix thoroughly, 3/4 cup sugar, butter, milk, flour, baking powder, egg and salt to make batter.
Pour batter over cherries, spreading it out to cover all of them.
Then pour juice from cherries over all.
Bake 40 minutes at 375 degrees. Here it is right out of the oven.
Finished pudding before I added the ice cream.
Even though this is called a pudding, I think it is closer to a cobbler.
