About Me. . . . .

Glenda Altman

This page is to tell you a little bit about me. My name is Glenda Altman and I live with my husband Dave and our two cats, BJ and Tammy Faye in Murfreesboro, TN. I am a legal secretary during the day and work on this website a few evenings during the week adding delicious dessert recipes I have collected over the years.

I have been baking for almost 45 years. I started when I was a teenager. Back then, we had to take cooking classes in school. That is where I acquired my basics in cooking and baking.

In my 20s, I took cake decorating classes with my Aunt Clara. That was so much fun! My children were little and I was able to put together fantastic cakes for their birthdays, Christmas and Easter – and many other occasions too.

I have not tried decorating a cake with fondant as yet. Not the way it is used today. When I learned to decorate, the fondant was used for decorations on top of the cake. I remember one cake in particular I made while taking that class. It was a New Years Eve cake and it had these drunk-looking pink elephants on top with little champagne bottles. The elephants and champagne bottles were made of fondant. It was so cute!

I still love to bake and I have many dessert recipes from my mother, aunt and other family members that I have collected over the years. That is why I started this website. It is to share my family dessert recipes.

How This Website Came About

This is my second website. Single Family Home Remodeling was my first successful website. To read more about me, click on the link and go to the About Us page.

Single Family Home Remodelling is a home remodeling website, which is a joint project with my husband, Dave. After years of remodeling homes, we wanted to share our knowledge and what better way than to put that knowledge on the web.

I searched online to figure out how to build a website. I had tried a couple of times before and both were a bust! However, I was determined.

I don't know how I found it, but one day I came across SBI. SBI stands for Site Build It! They said they could turn any hobby, passion or skill into a viable online business.

And they did!!

I didn't need any programming skills or web design knowledge. I didn't need any business skills or products to sell.

SBI has given me all the tools to build a great website. Take a look at this video below.

SBI is great! They take you by the hand and teach you step by step how to use everything you need to create a great website.

SBI will even help you find the perfect topic if you don’t have one. They will also help you to build it and to get traffic. All at your own pace!

AND THE BEST PART OF ALL...

They will teach you how to make money with your website!

It is a great community! Take a look at the hundreds of successful SBI websites. They were built by people just like you and me.

I started my Single Family Home Remodeling website in 2008 and Favorite Dessert Recipes website in 2010. Not only do I love what I’m doing, I am making money and on my way to a great retirement.

That's it about me for now.
